Bed and Breakfast in Le Luc en Provence, var : south of France - Bastide de La Mourignette

About

About our bed and breakfast accommodation.

The vineyard

The 7.5 acres of La Bastide de la Mourignette are partly covered by vineyards producing vintages of Côtes de Provence.
We grow here the Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan plants.
The grapes, grown on siliceous soils (limestone), give rosé (which represents 80% of the production in the area), white and red wines you will certainly be willing to taste, during relaxing moments in your favorite place in the garden, the veranda, or by the orchard.
The rosé works well with some olives (from our own olive trees if the crop is good) at lunch time, or as aperitif in the eveninig. The red wine is perfect with French cheese and bread. We particularly recommend the white wine served chilled, around the swimming pool in the evening.

The Mourignette Hill and its surroundings

The Bastide is protected in its back by the Mourignette hill, from which the bastide took its name.

The broom's field (called Genêts in French, ) behind the bastide, located at the very end of an alley of olive trees, will bring you there (the best times of the year are during spring time and fall) for a 2 hours tour walk. For the active people, a 5 hours tour through the nature, will bring you to the village of Le Luc.
On your way, you may encounter the "Hermann's turtle", a locally protected nice little friend in the forest, some other kind animals, but no cars...

The front garden

In the front side of the Typical Provence style building (called "bastide"), the trees bring you shade and rest from the burning sun, the thick walls of the house protect your rooms against the heat during the hot summer nights.

The kitchen garden.

Fresh vegetables are grown in this area, without pesticides, no GMOs, only homemade Bio, these are accompanying your meals!

The veranda & terrace

The front terrace, shaded in the morning, unless you wish to have your breakfast in the sun, is enhanced by a "zen" fountain with vasks, the luxuring garden with cascading flowers. During summer, the gentle splashing of the water mingles with the song of the cicadas… all the ingredients for a perfect siesta… a tradition which must not be taken lightly in Provence…. you either take it properly or abstain ;-)

The lounge (home)

The lounge with its library is the ideal place during winter times to read a good book around the old chimney or just chat with friends on the sofa.

Dining room

The diners take place in the main room, decorated with apparent wall stones and stone chimney bringing warmth in winter times, even if winter only lasts 2 months in Provence!
The diners' menus are changed every day in order to have our guests try the local specialities. The suggestions coming from our guests are always welcomed, and we take as much as possible into account the likes and dislikes.
